Hello and welcome to the grand beginning of Dawnclan's story. As you are already aware, our clan's history is based on the original Skyclan mentioned in Erin Hunter's "Warrior" books. In our guild Skyclan has split into three clans, Moonclan, Snowclan and Fireclan. As Cursedstar had mentioned in her own story of Pebbleclan's birth, there are two clans that need to be formed in order for the clans to find balance.

Thus, this is where Cindermoon's story begins!

The story to unfold is rather . . . long, so we have decided to split the events up into 8 parts!

Each clan is allowed to join in and react once their leaders have posted their own reactions to towards the events.

And without further a-do~ Enjoy!

"They're coming" The clouds separated and the moonlight revealed a huge warrior with a coat as black as raven, his enormous head was turned, gazing intensely at the moonlight. "For the Clans to find balance, two stars will fall from the moon." His coat shimmered, glistening like water as his head turned, mouth slightly open revealing razor sharp fangs. "When the two become one the chosen land will be born, baptized in the blood of the moon". The warrior's muscles rippled as he took a step forward, his head lowering as he took on the position of a prowl. "Cinderstar . ." the warrior's voice echoed, then vanished, emerald eyes burning through the dark.

Cindermoon flicked open her eyes. It was night, and mostly silent within the Warrior's den, except for a gentle sigh or snort every now and again.
Yawning, the she-cat stood up and weaved her way outside. It was a full moon without a single cloud in the sky. Cindermoon stretched, the cold air sending a shiver down her spine. The moonlight was beautifully pooling around the fresh-kill pile.

"THEY'RE COMING!"

Cindermoon spun around in shock, emerald eyes burning down at her from every direction.

"-coming from the Fireclan border." Cindermoon jerked awake.

"Well it's going to effect our food source if we leave it," Lynxheart hissed.

"That's what I'm saying! Patchstar is sending out a patrol now to find it, we need more warriors," Rosemist stood with her head in the entrance of the Warrior's den, her eye caught Cindermoon watching them curiously.

"You want to come join too? We're going fox-hunting" Rosemist mused, then shifted back to Lynxheart.

"Anyway come on, we should hurry" the two cats left the den.

Cindermoon shook her head and stood.

Foxes again, what else is Starclan going to throw at us? Was Ravensong's death not enough?

After exiting the den, Cindermoon stretched, little popping sounds erupted along her body making her wince. The sunlight embraced Cindermoon's orange fur, turning it into gold, the cool leaf-fall breeze felt refreshing on her drowsy face. The patrol Rosemist had mentioned had congealed underneath the Moss Rock.

"This needs to be taken seriously! No one approaches the fox alone, teams of three will be together at all times. If you find the fox, chase it out of the forest; try not to send it into another clan's territory. I don't want to have to explain that story at the next Gathering."

The warriors nodded, they remembered a few moons ago Patchstar had warned FireClan and PebbleClan about foxes before, and the news wasn't welcomed happily.

"Now go!" Patchstar leaped down and the MoonClan warriors raced out of the camp.

"Cindermoon! Why are you still here?" Patchstar noticed the warrior in front of the den.

Cindermoon trotted over to greet the leader.

"Well it doesn't seem like I'm needed, I think about half the clan is out there looking for the fox now." Cindermoon purred jokingly.

Cindermoon and the leader had always been close.

Patchstar sighed, "well I guess it's too late now... the patrols just left."

The leader shook her self down, taking a moment to groom some dirt off of her shoulder.

"I guess since the fox is under control would you mind taking care of hunting this morning? I'm going to stay here and make sure Stormfeather has everything in order, just in case something happens to the platoons." The tortoiseshell she-cat laughed.

She then stood and hurried off to the medicine cat den, waving her tail in dismissal. Cindermoon watched her leave, then headed out into the forest.

The voices of the fox patrols could be heard from where Cindermoon was padding. Their going to scare away the rest of the prey instead of the fox if they keep jabbering like that . .

With an irritated sigh, Cindermoon opened her mouth and let the taste of the forest wash over her tongue.

Pine . . . dirt . . . fern . . . SNAP!

Cindermoon spun around, as a dark mass smashed into her.

Cindermoon hissed angrily, flipping on her back and raked her hind claws along the intruders black belly. The scent of lilies and fertilizer swallowed Cindermoon's senses, raven fur smothering her mouth and nose.

"mmmgh!" Cindermoon growled, kicking harder, but to no avail.

The intruder was not budging, his weight keeping Cindermoon pinned to the ground.

"Quiet", his voice hissed quietly in Cindermoon's ear.

Cindermoon looked up and watched him glance around nervously, his eyes leering into the dark forest.

Slowly he stood up, pinning Cindermoon's throat to the ground with his heavy paw, focusing his pupils onto hers.

"Who are you?" the intruder growled curiously.

Cindermoon gasped, the male's emerald eyes shone down into hers as a passing wind flared up his deep black fur. Her muscles froze in terror as she slowly recognized where she had seen these traits before.

he's the one from my dreams! Cindermoon yearned to escape, but her body wouldn't listen to her, the intruders presents enough to keep her pinned to the spot in terror.

"t-That's what I would like to ask. You don't smell like the forest, what are you? A kittypet?" the she-cat eventually managed to weakly hiss back.

This is bad, this is very bad, I can't take this guy on by myself, no one will be out here, their all searching for the foxes! Starclan help me!

The black male narrowed his eyes then leaned down on his paw, choking Cindermoon.

"Gah! S-stop!"

"Oops, sorry!" he eased up a bit.

Cindermoon blinked seriously?

The she-cat calmed her beating heart and took another look at the male.

no . . . he looks similar but . . . he is not the one from my dreams . .

"Please, who are you?" the intruder's voice seemed to be shaking a bit.

"Why should I tell you?" Cindermoon meowed, letting out a small sigh of relief.

"I'm . . . well . . . because I need help, would you be able to help me?"

Cindermoon lifted her eyebrows, she was completely calm now, and the male didn't seem to be showing any signs of violent intent.

"I have to cure a sick kit who happens to be traveling with me, her name is Lily. Please you gotta help me!"

a sick kit huh . .

"Ok, ok, Get off of me."

Cindermoon coughed, letting her lungs fill with fresh air. The male's emerald eyes watched her nervously, he had seemed a bit reluctant to let her loose.

"Who are you?" Cindermoon meowed after catching her breath.

"My people call me Spirit" the black tom meowed back quickly, twitching his whiskers slightly.

"Why are you in this forest?"

"I can't tell you"

"How long have you been in this forest?"

"Not too long."

"Are you planning on staying in this forest?"

"That is not my decision to make"

Cindermoon cocked her ear curiously.

"Well whose decision is it?"

"Can you help me cure the kit or not?" Spirit meowed narrowing his eyes, averting the question.

Cindermoon sighed, twitching her whiskers.

"If you let me take the kit to my clan's medicine cat, he might be able to help her."

Spirit's eyes lit up with delight, "that's great!"

"Spirit, you haven't told me yet, whose decision is it?"

"Grim, he's the one who lead us to this land." Spirit meowed quickly, then stopped himself, eyes widening in a realization.

" . . . I don't think I should have said that . . " he sat down slowly placing his paw on his mouth, "you should forget I said that"

The space between the two cat's grew very quite, birds chirped to each other as the wind whistled through the tree branches above.  . . us?

"Hey, I said forget it" Spirit growled anxiously

"So there are only three of you right? Grim yourself and the kit . .  right?"

"What are you talking about? There's a bunch of us."

Cindermoon's jaw dropped stunned.

Spirit cocked his head, "what's wrong?"

Cindermoon slowly started shaking as she quietly unsheathed her claws, this guy . . "Hold up . . how many are you traveling with?"

Spirit lifted his head thinking, "um, well I'm not sure, does it really even matter? We're talking about curing the k-"

"HOW MANY!!?" Cindermoon cried out, startling nearby birds into flight.

Spirit blinked, dumb founded by Cindermoon's reaction. "how many Spirit!? How many cats have been lead into my clan's territory!?"

Cindermoon took a menacing step towards the male, her claws fully exposed. Spirit stumbled onto his paws, "WOAH! a-Alright, hold on! Let me think . . ." Cindermoon took another step, making Spirit back up nervously.

"um . . maybe about 25 I think? It's fine ok?! No need to go attacking ca-"

Cindermoon's breath caught in the back of her throat, "Oh this is NOT fine !" Cindermoon snarled, "Where are they Spirit?! You dangerous, prey stealing piece of dung!! Tell me before I hurt you!!"

Spirit fluffed out his fur, standing his ground with a growl "we aren't prey stealers!"

"25 CATS HAVE TO EAT SPIRIT!!!"

Cindermoon felt faint, this was too much.

"We haven't done anything wrong! We just wanted to cure Lily and we needed to stay somewhere while she got better!" Spirit's ears pinned back.

"Well you can't stay here!" Cindermoon snarled.

Spirit's nostrils' flared, his eye's tearing up a little.

"So this is your kind's answer!? We ask for help and . . and you accuse us of stealing prey!?!"

"Well I'm sorry I hurt your feelings, I'm sorry about the kit, you know I really am, but I have to worry about my clan first! Invaders second! Now Spirit, where are they !?!?"

"Hey, did that sound like Cindermoon to you?" a voice sounded from nearby.

Cindermoon froze, her eyes pinned on Spirit as he lowered himself to the ground and quickly darted back to the forest.

"Cindermoon?"

The she-cat watched as the black tom's tail disappeared. Rosemist shoved herself into the clearing, followed by Dustyfoot. Rosemist sniffed the air slowing her pace a bit, "Was there someone here a moment ago?"

Cindermoon turned towards Rosemist, anxiously glancing back at the spot where Spirit had just disappeared.

" It was. . . just a kittypet" she mumbled.
